The General and Technical Program Committee Chairs and Organizing Committee of the International Workshop on Small Weather Radars (ISWR) are delighted to announce that ISWR will be held in Fort Collins, Colorado, from June 6 – 8, 2018.
The city of Fort Collins has been named several times by Money Magazine as one of the top places to live and work. The city has a thriving arts scene, diverse shopping, hundreds of miles of walking and biking paths, and an overabundance of outdoor activities to take advantage of. The city and the surrounding area are nicknamed "The Napa Valley of Beer", boasting many microbreweries that are nationally renowned. Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) is the closest national park to the city, located just outside of Estes Park, only a 45 minute drive away from Fort Collins. While visiting the park you will likely see elk and deer, and if you are lucky maybe even a moose or bear. Take advantage of this opportunity and many others like our wonderful sunsets! If you are insterested in a tour of RMNP, please send us an email with your name.
Fort Collins is roughly 70 miles or 113 kilometers from Denver and is home to the closest airport hub to our city. When making travel arrangements be sure to pick Denver International Airport (DIA) as your destination. There are many options to travel from DIA to Fort Collins, the most convenient way is to use Super Shuttle or Green Ride. Both companies run shuttles between DIA and Fort Collins at the top of the hour. The shuttle vans pick up and drop off passengers at the Fort Collins Hilton, the transit center located at Colorado State University and any other location in the greater Fort Collins area; all you have to do is ask. The average drive time between DIA and Fort Collins is 60-70 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Check out the Travel & Local Info for a discount.
We encourage prospective authors to submit original work on all aspects of weather radar to ISWR2018. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Fort Collins, Colorado, in June 2018.
